WHAT WE BELIEVE
We are a Bible-based community of faith. We believe that the Bible is God’s Word to humanity; therefore, we believe in seeking out and practicing the principles declared in its pages. In God’s Word, we find: God’s declaration of himself, His plan of salvation for mankind, His principles to live by in this present world, and the beautiful eternal hope that we have in Jesus Christ.
• About Sin
Sin is disobedience to the precepts of God (I John 3:4). And, all have sinned, falling short of God’s plan for their life (Rom. 3:23-25).
• About Salvation
The salvation of mankind from their sins is the passion of God.
That salvation can only come by grace and through faith in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and His declared plan of salvation (Rom. 6:23, Eph. 2:8-9). And, there is no other path to salvation (Acts 4:12, Mark 16:15-16).
• About God’s Plan of Salvation
The gospel of Jesus Christ is the power of God unto salvation (Rom. 1:16). That gospel is declared as the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ; and, we are saved by obedience to the gospel (I Cor. 15:1-4).
We apply it to our lives by repenting of our sins (death to sin), being baptized in water in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of our sins (burial), and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit (resurrection).
This was indeed what was practiced by the early church, begun in The Acts of the Apostles, chapter 2 (Acts 2:1-4, 37-38, 8:9-17, 10:1-48, 19:1-7).
• About God
There is only one God (Deut. 6:4).
In Jesus Christ dwells all of the fullness of the Godhead (Col. 2:9).
We believe that God came manifested in the flesh of Jesus Christ ( John 1:14, I Tim. 3:16), was crucified on Calvary for our sins (Matt. 26:28, Acts 20:28), and bodily rose from the grave (Rom. 6:9).
He ascended on high (Acts 1:9) and sent His Spirit, the Comforter to dwell within us as the Holy Spirit (John 14:16-18, Acts 2:1-4, Col. 1:27).
• About Eternal Life
We believe that Jesus Christ is coming again to carry born again believers away, unto himself (John 14:3, Matt. 25:31, I Thess. 4:16-18).
